Full Version: New logo concepts! What d'ya think?

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of re-branding, woo hoo! I may have posted something awhile back about it, I can't remember. Anyway...here are my two favorite options right now, although I am definitely leaning towards the second one, but possibly in the blue color from the first.

I have a couple questions to pick your brains on though if you don't mind! I feel like it's not quite balanced...what do you think? And perhaps everything needs to be a little bit closer maybe? We're working on that. I love the idea that it's a lot of repeating "C"'s in the second one and also resembling a flower.

Also...what do you think about the idea of just using my name and not including "photography" or "photographer" etc...? I've tried to think of every option but as far as I can think, my logo will always be accompanied by my work, therefore it will be apparent what I "do" if that makes sense. What do you think? Should I add "photographer" under it or just leave it?

Ok here they are....all honesty appreciated smile.gif

Do you have one with "photography" that we could see? I almost think I would like that better

Before even reading your post (I always skip to pictures - I know, bad) I immediately liked the second one but thought it would look great in the blue from the first logo. So, after reading your post, you and I were thinking alike. I also like the repeating "c's"

The other thing that might look cool on the first logo, with the four "c's" around is to somehow have a J in the middle. that would be cool and would look good standing alone (without your name and photography). I don't know.... just a thought.

Thanks Tana. Skipping to pictures is good because that means you weren't influenced by my thoughts! She is working on one with photographer or photography integrated into those two, so I'll post them when I get them.

Thanks for the thoughts smile.gif

Cool!! I like it!! I don't know if you can tell, but with my new logo I went with the same idea. My "daisy" or flower or whatever is made out of a whole bunch of j's rotated around the center. I like the 2nd logo better and I like the green > blue.

Thanks Jamie wink.gif

Any other thoughts anyone?

I'm partial to the blue color but not the blue design (too spread apart or empty space) and like the C flowers (maybe in blue). To say photography or not, I'm on the fence about it. I like with some logo's and not with others smile.gif

i like the idea of using the 'j's or the 'c's as part of the logo, but how will it make sense unless you use them in the written name as well?
Jamie Lynne
I like the second logo a lot too. I think the blue or green could work - I like both. I think I would also have to see one with photography to have an opinion on it. But yeah..my eye was really drawn to the second one.
Jessica Parkison
I really like the 2nd one, blue or green. I'm with everyone else though that i would like to see one with "photography' in it.
Gail Werner
I like the second one too Jenny - and actually, I like it in the green - I think it pops more! Just took a look at some of your blog entries - are those KISS albums you're showing off? Nice work!
{ashley}
I like the second one! I think the green is the way to go! As far as "photographer, if you can work it n and still have it look as clean and crisp, do it. If not, I think people will get the jist since this will always be accompanied by your work as you mentioned.

Thanks everyone for the input! It's really helping a lot with my decision making, and I really appreciate it smile.gif

Tami, that makes a lot of sense I'm going to try to explore that idea a little more.

Gail, thanks! I'm still split on the green or blue. And those are actually Finao albums, I love them!!!

Here is a draft of the second one in blue...and I think I'm starting to love it! Still working on ideas including photography or photographer though.

I think because the blue is so light it tends to "spread" if that makes any sense, making the eye wander instead of holding it on the focal point. The green looks cleaner and tighter and holds it together because it's darker. The green seems to "pop" more.

I really like it either way though! So simple and purty.... wink.gif

instead of a line between the words, make the C in creed the same one that repeats in the green and it'll work.

Obviously this will look cleaner when you don't use a copy of a copy but:

I like your newest version.... you could always do jennifercreed / photography or just photography underneath in smaller letters??
Lucky Red Hen
Kinda what I pictured based off what Matt suggested (with a cleaner C in creed, of course).
Lucky Red Hen
Oops, that should be in green smile.gif

Thanks everyone. I promise I'm not ignoring you, I'm just trying really hard to convince myself to like Matt and Shannon's takes on it. I know design wise and everything else it makes the most sense......I just am having a hard time connecting with it personally haha. I'd like it a lot if it was someone else's logo, does that make any sense?

ETA: That came out snottier than I meant it I think. I mean that I really really respect you all so I'm trying to get myself to stop being stubborn and change what I had in my head haha.

And you should because we know EVERYTHING and everyone should do EXACTLY what we tell them wink.gif

Just kidding, of course.

I understand your feelings and would NOT be offended in the slightest if you flushed my idea(s) down the toilet. That's what's great about this forum, you can get varied feedback that can help you with your decisions. Sometimes people help you realize what NOT to do as well as which directions to head laughing.gif

Good luck and I can't wait to see what you decide on!
