That's a pretty broad question.... Give some more info first:

What cameras/lenses do you use now?

What is your expected budget for Canon gear?

What is your style, mainly portraits, or more PJ?

Yeah, I think we need a bit more info to make better suggestions, but I can say this, I have been shooting Nikon for 2 years and I have 20x24 prints from a D70s and they look just fine. I just printed 20 8x10s for a portfolio to show brides and several of those images were shot at ISO 1600 on my D300 and they look beautiful, and I'll tell you, the only thing the bride I met with this past Tues saw, was how good the images looked, both color and B&W.

ugh!!!...the longest unresolved question since the beginning of photography.

Dude...it is NOT the equipment you have that makes you a great photographer, it is the camera you have in your hand and the knowledge in your brain.

I know MANY, MANY "photographers" with $1000 cameras, heck even $5000 cameras that take TERRIBLE pictures.

so many people go into debt for equipment purchases, just to get the latest body. Bad, very bad (unless it is for a very short-term basis, like 3-6 months, maximum).

Learn to use what you have FIRST. You may be surprised. A bride does not give a hairy rats behind what kind of camera you shoot her wedding with. PLUS, YOU CAN'T TELL WHAT PICTURE WAS TAKEN WITH A CANON OR NIKON just by looking at the photograph!!! Don't be stupid, it can't be done.

I would challenge anyone that I could shoot a wedding with spectacular results from an off-the-shelf digital camera from Wal-Mart (point and shoot even). Many others here could do the same.

Don't get caught up in the Nikon vs Canon thing, or specific models...just shows you have no knowledge of what being a true PHOTOGRAPHER is really about. I don't mean that to be rude, but so many newbies THINK a brand is going to make them a great photographer.

PLEASE STOP THE INSANITY!!!

Uh, why the new topic with the exact same topic title?

Have you heard of the D3

What lenses do you have? If you don't have fast lenses then it would make since that you have noise issues.

Need more info! To really help.

D3 is the solution..

And I've got a stunning 20"x30" from a d50. that camera had some magic in it...

Thanks everyone, I normally shoot with two D200s, and i am trying to switch to a full frame camera. i intially thought of the Canon 5D because it is a full frame camera and very affordable compared to the D3, but i think i will try to buy the D3 because of the cost of switching from Nikon to Canon.

Tunji,

The new D700 may also fill your needs.
