Ok, so I just signed up for Zenfolio, and am about to put a recent wedding online for the clients to start ordering prints.

My question is this: How much of the job do you make available online? The whole shbang? An edited version of the job?

Just curious because this was a loooong day, and I ended up giving the client around 900 images. That's going to take a loooong time to upload.

Is it cool to upload all that to the site? Will it hinder print sales if they have to sift through all those thumbnails? Any suggestions on how to organize the job, etc?

Thanks!

I always upload the entire edited wedding to the online proofing site but organize it into getting ready, ceremony, reception, just the couple, etc. That way if mom wants to just look at the family pics, she can just sift through that section. You really never know what they or their guests will order which is why I just upload it all!

Put everything that is of reasonable quality up that represents your work, you will be amazed at the shots people will order.

Yup.. exactly.. you NEVER know what other people will like and I'm constantly amazed at the shots I would normally delete.

There is a big thread going on DWF now about taking too many images = spending more time on processing, costing more money.. but I think they other way, more images, more potential to MAKE money because we don't know what people are going to buy.

2 sides to every coin...
