I got my new AB lights a few weeks ago, and the master/slave has been about 70-80% reliable outside -- not bad, but frustrating when it doesn't work!

BUT TOMORROW my inexpensive AB transmitter & receivers arrive!
I've heard the horror stories about the older version.
I got the new version that just started shipping out a week or so ago...

Anyone have them yet?

I'm excited to use them and play!
I've been anti-off-camera-lighting for the longest time just because I'm so darn lazy, but I love what I can do with these lights!

Here was of my recent favorites: (taken after practice one day, right before sunset, facing into the darker blue sky w/the sun behind me)

Here's their coach (can you tell the slave didn't fire on this one??)

I had the light to my left set stronger than the one on my right. I think maybe I should have swapped that around... I don't know.

If any strobists want to chime in on lighting positions & stuff like that, feel free! I'm a total newb when it comes to this stuff.

I'm just excited to get those wireless triggers tomorrow!!

yes, dear, pleeeeaaase let me know how the triggers work. i'd love to throw those on with my AB1600. i've heard they're good so far, but I know you'll put them to a tough test.

Carey - I have been watching their site and have been waiting on the battery powered receivers, which according to their site will be available this month. As soon as they get those, I will place an order. Let me know how you like them!
