I am looking for a good shopping cart option, and I saw on some previous threads where some of you recommended Photo Cart. But, their demo is pretty bad. Could someone PM me the info for your site? I'd love to check out some good examples. Thanks!

I use exposure manager.. a great hosted solution..you can develop the orders on your own or you can leave the printing and shippint to exposure manager...You can customize it so it looks like your website...

You can take a look mine at http://store.febusphotography.com

As soon as my cart is running, I'll get a demo link for OSPers. Also, if you PM Jason Tench or Heather Ahrens they may let you look. They were superb about helping me with my decision.

Yes, the demo is pretty bad because he allows everyone to mess with it. I had the same problem and did exactly what you are doing. I also took time to really check its admin side and that convinced me that it was exactly what I was looking for.

Pickpic is very good also. I just don't like the price. If they would had allowed me an installment plan I probably would have never check Photocart. No I am happy that Pickpic forced me to look elsewhere. Because I am very, very satisfied with Photocart. Not just because is less costly, but because it does everything I need to do and more.

A lot of people are discovering Photocart and are making the switch. I believe Jefferson Todd used to use Pictage and now is using Photocart.

Here is his

Here is mine

Beware, I am "remodeling mine". In the near future it will look more like J.T.

I have been using it for almost a year without even one glitch or complaint.

Also, you may want to try their forum and you will be able to see many of their implementations.

Also, Tim is close to finish the new upgrade for Photocart and It will look way nicer with tons of new features. and guess what? the upgrade is always free! So you don't have to wait to buy, because as soon as it is out, you will get it for free.

If you have any question feel free to PM anytime.

Not to hijack but I have a question for photo cart users!

I just bought Photocart today and am having a really hard time customizing the header. Can anyone give me some tips or help me out? Thank you so much!!!
Kari
You can check out mine... let me know if you want to poke around in a gallery and I'll email you a password.

Jenny,
I went to the header code and changed it. I had to upload a picture on my server, and put in some HTML code that told it what to do. I don't know html, but here is what my header says....

<P align="center">
<a href="http://www.karidouma.com/"><img src="http://www.karidoumaphotography.com/NewBlogHeader.jpg" border="0"></a>

The address that you see is the address where my image is heald. (Sorry if you know this already, but I don't know how much you know!) I set my width on my photocart and the width on my header the same.
Hugh Anderson
Good advice from Kari.

Just to expand a little, the header code can be found in a document called "header.php" in the main Photocart folder.

Do not open this with Dreamweaver etc. Open it with a plain text editor. That would be TextEdit on a Mac, not sure about windows, maybe Notepad. Make the changes on your machine, upload the file and overwrite the old one on the server.

If you do not have a copy of the files on your machine, I would suggest that you download Header.php, duplicate it so you have a back up, make changes to one of the two, then upload. You will still have your back up is something goes wrong.

I am assuming you are using an jpg image, and not a Flash banner?

Good luck.

Photo Cart is hands down the best self-fullfillment cart available. It wins in price, customization, ease of use, you name it. I love it and I thank OSP for making me aware of it, especially David from Puerto Rico and Matt. I first found it by googleling online photo cart software. And I was with you. The demo sucks, some of the photos are horrible, I thought it was just some guy in the middle of no where selling something he thought was great.

Boy was I wrong, don't judge a book by it's cover. I'm not finished customizing mine yet, but here it is if you would like to take a look:

btw, from what I've seen of PhotoCart 4.2 (the pending upgrade) it's going to ROCK.

Thank you so much Kari and Hugh! That was a tremendous help!!!

I just make my changes in the administration area that came with the program. I don't really even know what Hugh is talking about here! I just go to the drop down menus to the "header" tab.
JennyB
Yup thats what I did haha. I read about editing the header file but it stressed me out. Your way was much more on my level haha.

If anyone is posting wedding galleries, I would love to see one. I would like to see how it handles 300+ images. Can you split them into smaller galleries like Bride, Groom, Couple, Ceremony, Reception...? Thanks.
Andrew Merefield
I have had a look at a couple of the galleries mentioned above, but most of the galleries are, understandably, locked. Does anyone have a sample wedding gallery that I could look at, especially with ordering showing to see how it all looks.

Me, too! I like splitting images in different sections.
Matt Antonino
You CAN split it up - but I haven't done so yet. If you want to see a "quickie" demo, go to our photocart and enter the access code spencer That should take you right to a shoot Sarah did with her parents - which was SO much fun!

To see how it integrates with our site & blog, check those here:

That'll give you an idea how it looks when it's customized.

I do have the accessory store option up but not for this gallery (only for weddings).

i have the accessories module, also.

Hi,

no problem with the image numbers - the attached image will show that we have 1451 images in 11 galleries. I am a big advocate of Photocart.

Hugh

Cindy Stafford
In Photocart you have the option to make subgalleries within the main gallery. This is what we use to put the images into categories, i.e. getting ready, ceremony, portraits, etc. It works great!

PM me if you want to see an unlocked gallery

Just curious, is there a reason you don't password your galleries? Do clients request it? I know some parents can be protective of their child's images...just curious on your take of things. smile.gif

I can't answer for Robin, but we don't password protect unless asked (which we are more than happy to do if requested). Our clients know this from the get go, and we've never been asked to do this (except for a surprise gift session that mom didn't want dad to see the photos for his birthday).

By doing this it allows potential clients to view the images we are producing for our sessions, giving them a fuller view of our work. it also allows for family and friends to view the photos easily without the parents/bride & groom/etc. to have to email everyone the password.
