So yesterday I shot my first wedding alllllll by myself. I have been second shooting for a while with Shan of captured photography. The groom is my step brother and when they first got engaged asked if I would shoot their wedding. I encouraged him to go get someone that was more prepared for it but he insisted. I didn't charge them anything because I am not sure if I am shooting weddings at a caliber to charge just yet.
I do want to say however how much respect I gained for all of you photographers who solo shoot weddings. Because there were shots going on that I knew I was missing but I simply couldn't get because there was only one of me. But I see several of yall pulling it off on a regular basis and for that I give yall props. Never the less it was a nice learning experience and I feel like I grew as a photographer for shooting it so I am happy I did. ANYWAYS here are some of my favorite images. Love them? Hate them? Your thoughts please.

Wow - these are great!!! I especially love the ones you got outside of the couple and the wedding party. If you didn't charge these guys anything, then I think you're short-changing yourself! DON'T DO THAT!

Braden, man seriously, your work is so killer. You've got this style that comes through with every image you take, you're not just artistic but consistent in the way that you stay so true to your internal vision. Don't doubt yourself. Your work is going to attract a different sort of crowd and really set you apart. Yes you can charge, and I would say that you could start out at mid-range for your market (easily, very easily).

Nothing too much wrong with these. Id say you are way on the way....go for it.
With respect to shooting solo, after a while you get a feel for whats going on in the wedding and you just gravitate to being in the right place.....following the bride also always helps.
Shooting solo of course means you do miss somethings but you have to concentrate on getting the important things down. Again, your sixth sense would always help you.
Good Luck

These rock! And I probably could not have done better. Though I have to say that I can't get past the soft focus in some of them.
But, I'm biased towards your portrait work- your style is very unique there.
I really like no 2 and 9.

Nice work Braeden. I'm hoping to get some of my own first wedding up here shortly, but you're raising the bar! I love the perfect emotion of the bride and (I assume) her father. That's why I love weddings.

14 is a beautiful, tender moment. When you can get one of those at a wedding, it's a success. The rest is gravy!
