So far I have been using single-servo AF mode and single-point area focus mode. I am beginning to wonder if it makes sense to use continuous-servo AF mode especially when there are moving subjects...what do you think?

It makes a lot of sense, the continuous-servo AF mode is so fast compared to other nikon cameras and its great for any moving objects. I use continuous focus all the time, it can be a tiny bit harder on the batteries but its worth it if you are getting a lot of out of focus shots. I would stay with the single focus mode for portraits but if you are constantly moving or your subject is moving use the continuous-servo AF mode, it just helps so much.

I'm on continuous all the time. During a wedding day my subjects are still for only about 20 minutes during the whole 8-10 hours, during portrait sessions I keep them moving so much that single would just be frustrating for me.
