Full Version: First solo wedding on sat!
OpenSourcePhoto > Who We Are :-) > We lived!

This will be my first solo wedding on sat, and i am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have been a second shooter for a year with my photo teacher and now he has given me my first wedding by myself, and i am only 16, but i have a very solid knowledge of photography and lighting. The bride is sooo nice too and she used to model when she was younger so she does know some of the shots that she wants so its pretty cool.

I was just wondering if anyone had some advice, yes i know there is tons of advice and knowledge all over osp (thats why i love it), but i just wanted to get some small blurbs of advice for my my first solo wedding. Also what was your first solo wedding like?

I will post up some of the pictures and let everyone know how it went after the wedding!

Thanks OSP!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, considering for my first wedding i was THE main photographer (with the help of a friend as second shooter also her 1st) my only advice would be, don't overwork your brain. Take the shots that are there, don't strive too much to 'make' the shot.
and... have fun!

It was sooo much fun! I am editing the pictures now and will post them on my new blog that I just started last night (another mile stone for me).

It's a little late now but, ALWAYS bring backup gear!! Always.

It's always good to start early, I started taking photos when I was a teeny tyke. I didn't start doing weddings or anything professional for quite some time, but Congrats!
