I guess this question best fits in the miscellaneous category -- hopefully somebody can help me out! I am falling more and more in love with newborn, baby and children's photography, and I have discovered that I really love the look of little ones in hats (see my avatar for an example!) I've seen some really funky cool hats on Flickr and other places, and I would love to get some of those for my newborn sessions. But so far, I'm striking out in my online searches. Anybody got any good tips? And if you buy from etsy, a specific seller's name would be great (I've seen some cool ones on there, but usually for bigger children).
Thanks so much!

That LaFolie Knits shop is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Thanks so much! Hopefully I'll be able to find their stuff around here, or their online store will reopen soon. You guys rock.

This probably doesn't help, but I am a knitter and there are books and books of nothing but whimsical baby hats out there. You can typically make a small hat like that with less than a skein of yarn and it's a fast project.
If you have any friends that knit, you could probably bribe them with yarn and get them to make you some.
I think it's probably worth mentioning that some moms will take issue to putting a "prop" hat on their kid.

That's true, and something I hadn't really thought about (the "prop" hat thing). Hmmm... maybe I'll have to ponder this more. I guess I really just need to find moms with stockloads of cute hats already.

Yes, you'll have to start blog stalking the knitters in your area!

The other thing to consider with knitted goods is that some people are allergic to certain types of yarn, like alpaca or mohair or regular old wool. If you do track down some hats, you should try to figure out what they are made of.
