Say I want to put all my detail shots together and all the girls getting ready and then the guys getting ready shots after that....I can't seem to move the images around to change the order of them in Lightroom.

Can this be done? Am I missing something? I tried changing the sort to User Order but it still doesn't let me drag and drop the images in a different order....any suggestions?

Make sure your folder name of images on the left hand side is highlighted. So if you have Smith wedding as your folder name that you are working on, it has to be selected, then you can move them in any order that you want.

If you make a collection of the images you've worked up, you can reorder them easily in there by just dragging them around.

ive found you can only drag and drop reorder in Library mode. Ive tried in process mode, but it doesnt work.

You can also rename them using the rename photo option, under the photo menu. I select all of the ones I want together, then insert a prefix like 1000 for rehearsal, 2000 for ladies getting ready, 3000 for guys, 4000 for ceremony, etc...then add a sequence number. Once you have done that, you can view the library by file name order and when you export to other programs, they will stay in that order...
