Casey Karbowski
Hey everyone,

Long time lurker's first post here. Yeah!

Anyways, I see how great the community is here and was hoping someone could help me out.

I recently got an offer to buy a 1Ds MkII very cheaply from a friend who inherited the camera. The problem is, we have no charger, plus only one battery and its dead. I can't even figure out if the thing will power on, and I'm not going to sink that much money into a camera that I dont know will function!

Can anyone loan me a 1D series battery or charger? Alternatively, does anyone know anyone who uses 1D series cameras in the Chicago area? Either one would be helpful.

Thanks so much, I really want this deal to happen.

Casey

PS - The 1D series uses batteries different from any other camera Canon mkaes, so a 5D won't cut it.

Why not head on over to Calumet on Cherry St. near Division/Halstead...I am sure they'd let you try out a battery in the store! They have a rental department too so even if they won't let you try it out for free, I am sure they could rent you a charged battery...

Not bad ideas. I did try Helix with no dice. At the very least Calumet's rental dept may be able to do something...

Anybody else wanna chime in?

David uses a 1D, and we'd be glad to let you check your camera out with David's battery. This week is kind of crazy at times, but drop me a PM and we'll work something out!

Thanks,
Leann
