Yo Yo Yo.... For some reason I'm feelin gangsta right now, weird!

I'm thinking about picking up a wide angle for my D300..... any suggests??

12-24 f4... tokina. That's right, I said Tokina.

10-20 f/4-f/5.6 by sigma is keeping me happy (unfortunately it's a variable apperture if you can live with that).
Lindsey
Not as wide as those suggestions, but I have a sigma 20/1.8.

thanks you all for your suggestions.... is anyone using Nikkor?

I have a 17-55 f2.8 and love it.
Wider? I have a 12-24 f4 and love that.
More? I have a 10.5 f2.8, which is much wider than the 12 by the way. Oh, and I love it so much that after I sold it to get the 12-24, I bought another one. I had to have it.

You wouldn't think (at least I didn't) that the 12 and 10.5 wold be *that* much different, but wow, they are.

I tried both the:
Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED
and
Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED

Fun lenses, but price is a bit of a showstopper.

Nikkor 10.5:

Unfortunately with such a lens, one tends to go overboard and use it too often. It then becomes boring.

For the D300 I'd go with the 10.5mm F2.8

Ditto. Depending on how you use it it ain't that fishy on the cropped sensor. Use sparingly. I love my 17-55 but it's not that wide on a cropped sensor.

I second the Sigma 10-20mm. I love that lens. Very little distortion, and what there is, takes a second in PT lens to correct. Not superfast, but relatively cheap and HSM motor in the lens. I have been happy with the build quality.

I am looking for the same thing. Been considering:

17-35mm 2.8
14-24 mm 2.8 - Doesn't accept filters
12-24 mm 4.0
17-55 2.8 - rented it, tried it, didn't like it

I will probably end up getting the 17-35mm as I want to landscape work and it will accept filters. I will probably also get the D300 sized full frame (rumored) if and when it does come out too.
