I just got a new computer and upgraded everything to Leopard. I am still using CS2 and it just keeps quitting on me. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I got a new plugin that adobe suggested, I upgraded to 10.5.3 and still it is quitting. I don't know what to do. Do I need to upgrade to CS3? I know I am late in the game, but every time I turn around there is something else to upgrade, learn, etc, and I just want to work! So I keep putting it off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else had problems? I have so much to do and it can't get done without PS! HHHEEELPPP!

Does it tell you why it crashes? Do you get an error message? Have you set up the license for this computer so it is authorized to run PS? I had an issue for a while where my license got messed up and for some reason Adobe had me as having multiple copies of PS so I could not use it because they thought I had more than I was allowed.

Have you called Adobe yet? They are not the fastest but I have had luck with their support in the past.

I have the same issue-Leopard and CS2-the error message comes up

"Photoshop has quit unexpectedly do you wish to send an error report?"

I can't help you, but I hope someone has an answer because it is frustrating!

No I don't get an error message. It just quits and tells me that PS quit unexpectantly and asks if I want to send a report.

I will have to check with the multiple copies thing to see if that is the case. I did talk to the Adobe people today and they just told me to uninstall and install again. After that didn't work I thought I would try to figure it myself again. I will probably call them again tomorrow.

So are you just living without PS, Rachel? Or what are you doing? If I figure this out, I will let you know!

Hey there,

One thing to consider is that CS2 is not intel supported, so you are running the program through Rosetta, and that potentially could be causing problems. Typically this might be most noticeable when you are doing something really processor heavy. I know that I ran CS2 on an intel Macbook fine, but I didnt have leopard, so I am not sure if there are bugs there. I am running CS3 on my Macbook Pro and tiger and I have been having problems there too, but I run CS3 on my MacPro with leopard at work and it runs like a dream.

Adobe is already beta testing CS4, so you might consider an upgrade- but if you hold out till CS4, you might get the CS3 upgrade cheaper. Either way...good luck- oh and you should download the CS3 trial and see if you are still having problems. See ya

Josh

dana i was so glad to upgrade from cs2 to cs3 on my intel mac - what a difference. seriously , i dont see how you havent pulled your hair out yet!

i'm afraid to upgrade to leopard, my husband wants me to, but i am worried.

are you having any other issues with leopard?
Shane Snider
I'm running CS3 on Leapord and everything seems OK.

Sorry about your trouble Dana. But I agree with tami. Probably worth the extra to upgrade and save the headache.

upgrade your CS2 to CS3 immediately! you should not be running CS2 on an intel mac.... as has been said before, it's unsupported and runs in a completely different "language" which causes a lot of problems.

good luck.
