I don't know if this is the proper place for this post (I didn't really see a "Volunteer" section)... I'm wondering if anyone has any information about the Celebrating Adoption organization? I am very interested in becoming affiliated with this group, but I saw on the contact form today that they are not accepting additional photographers at this time due to personal reasons for the organizer.
Does anyone have any information? I have a nephew who was just adopted this year, so it's something near and dear to me, and these sessions are certainly something I would love to be able to volunteer to do!
Thanks,
Carrie

hey carrie. i was able to become affiliated but i don't really receive any benefits or business by doing so. you could still offer the same sessions by announcing it on your website or blog and call it something else. you can celebrate adoption for families in your area, without being an official member.

I have been a member for over a year and have offered one session as a result. I would have done more but have not had any inquiries. I have it posted on my blog and they link to my site.

Ditto PP. I've had one request over the past year. I'd love to do more work like this, but feel as though I could probably promote it myself just as well.

I signed up about this time last year, and I've done a dozen or so sessions since then. Most of the families have become repeat clients, booking me for family sessions, the little one's first birthday, and in one instance, mom's maternity and a newborn session and the legal adoption of another child at the courthouse.
I'm not sure about the website being closed to taking on new people, but I encourage anyone to try back in a month or two. It's a really wonderful organization.
