i feel kinda like a tool. i have had my mark ii for about 6 months and haven't had any issues until now. i have always just plugged in my batteries when i thought they were low & let 'em hang out for a day or so.

that is, until yesterday when i thought i had fully charged both batteries, and my assuumption was wrong. they both died in about the first 30 minutes of shooting deadhorse.gif

so, those of you shooting with the mark ii know that the battery charger has two little chords that plug into the batteries. and there is a 'charge' light, a 'refresh' light, and a 'refresh' button. when i plug in my batteries to charge, some times the light blinks... some times it doesn't... some times its red... some times its yellow.

help? blink.gif

can you help me decode my battery charger? how do you charge yours?

thanks...
Mike Tucker
Hey Gabriel,

The light will blink when the charge is complete..... It sounds like you need to refresh the batteries. Connect the battery and press the refresh button until the orange light comes on; this will take about 9 hrs.....

gabriel, also remember to "REFRESH" your batteries about once a month. this takes A LOT longer than a normal charge, so make sure and give them a good day and a half to do this. basically refreshing the batteries discharges them to a certain point then cycles the voltage back up to a full charge. it's a bit different current-wise than using the batteries in the camera, and it's something that's good to do to mantain the NiMh cells that make up the packs.

best of luck.
