I want to learn more about off camera flash . . . that rig looks pretty cool!!
James Allen
i see what you are doing. what is the point? trying to use twice as many batteries?

do you end up with pictures with a shadow on both sides of your subject? like a ring flash creates a shadow on all sides of its subject.

EricM
The point for me is halving recycle times. Two flashes = half output for each. Twice as fast to recycle. Also twice as long before needing to replace batteries.

I'd love to get a pair of these - Bob Davis gave me a demo in Chicago and they have a lot of potential but I never heard back from the owner sad.gif

I heard they aren't really "legal" devices yet b/c they haven't passed the FAA yet. If you know how to get a set let me know and I'm happy to pay for them.

Holy crap they fly too!?!? Just kidding. I think you mean the FCC not the Federal Aviation Administration.

Here's a post on the status from the Radiopopper blog. Can't wait to get a set for myself.

well tickle me silly. sometime I wonder if my brain is working. I just read the website about being able to sync the flash output using TTL and everything. I would love to see this in action.

There are lots of points to having a little more flash power.

I use this mount:

http://www.brewerbracket.com/el-doble-dual...la-bracket.html

At $65, it costs a little more than Jacob's. It's also more function. Note the hole for the umbrella shaft. On the Jacob unit, your flashes are going to be off-center. On the Brewer Bracket, the heads will line up in about the center of the umbrella.

If you never use umbrellas, it obviously doesn't matter. If you do, this is a great feature.
