I plan to use showit at a wedding next week, and I would like to shoot RAW+jpeg. Is there a way to only download the jpegs to my computer and not any of the RAW files?

Each time I've tried, I download both formats, so the jpegs are there for every other image. This is making it impossible to select just what I want.

Any advice is apprecitated.

Im assuming you are using a specific program to move the files across? Im not sure about the ways with the programs but this is the way I would do it.

If you put your memory card in, then open a file browser window, select the drive related to the memory card, and then sort the images by Type, you can then select and then COPY the JPGs across to the computer - slow way of doing it, but only way I know how atm

I do exactly what you want to do for slideshows. If your camera has dual CF card slots you can write RAW to one and Jpg to the other. That way you just pop in the jpg card and copy everything. Otherwise you'll just open the card up in a file browser and "Sort by Type". Select all the jpg images and copy them to a folder on your desktop. Voila!

That's what I do for creating slideshows at the reception except I use Lightroom's built in slideshow feature with a custom template. I copy the jpgs, edit by giving my choice images a 1 star rating. Filter out the rejects, Run some quick preset image processing and then select slideshow.

"Sort by type" -that is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks so much, I'll try it tomorrow.
