The video that comes up playing is the acutal commercial, but check out the second video on the right! Musical cameras, anyone?
Amber Martin
that second one is cool!

Cool find! It took 70,000 photos for that commercial... wow. I doubt they were using the Rebel though. smile.gif

Rebel XSi takes 3.5fps. That was definitely a 1D series. But I'm assuming they were trying to simulate a lot of photographers shooting at the same time. So it goes to show ya, one guy with a Mark III can do the job of 30 photographers with Rebels. ph34r.gif

Yeah that's some major misleading of the general public. The ad as we see is for the XSI but I only see 2 frames of that video where there's an XSI and one of them the camera isn't being fired, it's just on a mount, all the rest are Mark III's! Cool to watch but very misleading.

That's funny, I just saw that commercial on TV a couple days ago and thought there was no way that was the XSi. Great advertising. rolleyes.gif

So, anyone wanna start a drama thread and argue about Canon's ethics?

Actually, I agree with you, Mark. In linking to the video, I was mostly focused on the cool shutter symphony. The main ad is misleading, as it does seem to imply that all of those images were shot with xsi's (and according to Adam Squier, that is a proper use of an apostrophe, according to the AP style guide biggrin.gif ). The ad sounds like it incorporates some of the shutter sounds in the background music - my first thought was, There's no way that's the shutter sound of an xsi!

If a photographer posted here with a similar marketing strategy (maybe using the main photographer's images to advertise a second shooter), they'd get raked over the coals. (This has absolutely no relation to what Shane posted today - I think he's doing it right, setting up a website to market his, uh, shooters.)
