I am truly, the most blessed man alive.
My wife is without a doubt, the strongest woman I know. She loves the Lord first and foremost, is my perfectly designed best friend, puts up with me when I'm blue (that counts for bonus points!!), and willingly desires what I call the hardest job in the world: that of a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations. ?@#! My wife is a full time Mom to our children and the XO (Executive Officer) of my squadron (you Naval Aviation fans out there will understand that one). While no post can allow me to fully express the super hero abilities of this wonderful woman, I will try instead to show her inner and outer beauty as she carries lil' DeJesus #3.
As you all know, we are expecting our third precious miracle (a boy!) and as a photographer, you just know I had to have a maternity session with my dear wife!! Back in January, I attended a seminar out in California and will never forget one of the images I saw that photographer John Mireles made for a client. It was of a young lady, several months into her pregnancy, out on the beach as she held the miracle within by cradling her stomach. I will never forget this beautiful story captured in one shot and knew that when the time was right, I had to take Mere out to the beach for her very own session. I was looking forward to this day for months! And thankfully, we finally had the time to do it.
Just before leaving for the beach, I gave my kids a crash course in holding the light stand in case it was windy. It was so cute! They knew they had an important job and were thrilled to have a part. Once we got there though, my dear Maddie heard the beach blanket calling her name for a short nap! Nicky on the other hand, was ready to perform his duty.

Maddie knew this was a belly session so she had to show me hers too!

For some reason, the style of this shot reminds us of the time when our parents were kids. Doesn't it?!

Mere was a little worried about the session as she doesn't like being the center of attention. I tried to be discreet and quick as the beach was a bit more crowded than we were expecting for that time of day. She was awesome! The marks of an excellent client.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, My Beautiful Wife.

With the sun quickly setting, and beautiful light all around, we ended our session with a picnic, and a quick family photo of my pride and joy.

And as soon as she could, Maddie just had to head to the water. Can you say "photo-op"?

Thanks for sharing in this special time with us.
