I have been working for the last few months on defining my style and have stepped outside of my comfort zone quite a bit. I am shooting mostly natural light now and I have all but abandoned my zoom lenses in favor of primes. This has been very challenging for me and I have had a lot of moments that I have debated my skill at all as a photographer.
Then weddings like this past Saturday's come along and all the pieces fall into place for me. Great light, beautiful couple, fun day. Now this is why I am a photographer!
Enjoy!

Great work! I can't really say any more than Keep it up! Primes are a great way to force you to push yourself more. Physically working for the framing makes you need to think quicker to get it right. You're definately rockin' it.

Don't you wish they could all be like that? My wedding Saturday was at a church with a beautiful foyer lit by natural light, but we didn't go in there. We had to stay in the gym with no windows with candles on the tables. It also had a great garden area, but we had about 7 minutes there at the end.

Wow--great work, Stepahnie! I love 3,5, & 7! I also love primes--I'm the second shooter at most of our weddings and I keep my 50 1.2 on my camera for about 75% of the wedding.

Thanks everyone!
I was just so happy to finally have something that I am proud to call my own. It has been an uphill battle (and will probably continue to be until I have practiced it a ton more!) to stick to my primes, wide open, natural light. It was really hard going from taking 1000 images where 90% of them are good to taking 1000 images where 40% are good. The reason I am sticking to it is that with the 40% that are good comes 1% that are amazing!!!! That is my reward!
Thanks again for the compliments.
