Full Version: Oh so you wanted an album after all... spraying prints?

I have a client who said their daughter had an album already and wouldn't be needing one from me. So now that the prints are back from the lab, they have changed their tune.

The prints were ordered as non-coated print e-surface prints. If they go into an album, wouldn't I need to spray them? And if so, what type of spray do you use? Aerosol or pump. Joke!

This is new to me.

I did some research on sprays before I offered traditional albums and a lot of people said I didn't even need to use a coating. I wouldn't feel comfortable with spraying prints myself because I have heard it is REALLY easy to screw up. Michel Company offers a few kind of sprays though. Insead of DIY, why not get the client to pay just your cost of reprinting and getting those prints sprayed. You could just tell them it is the cost for sending the prints back to get sprayed... or ask your lab if you could send them back to be sprayed.

Those are a couple good suggestions. I wouldn't charge the customer for the spray as I see it as being a mistake I made. From now on, I think I'll have all enlargements sprayed and just consider that to be the standard. I'll look into the Michel Co. spray.

Thanks,
