Full Version: Lightroom 2 Beta.... a problem with retouch tool exports

I thought I should post this to see if anyone else has had this problem...

I just exported a wedding that I edited in LR 2.0. While working further on the jpegs in CS2 I had groups of images that wouldn't save. PS would come up with an error dialogue... ooh I can't remember the exact text, but something about being "unable to save due to a program error".

This had me mystified, because some images were fine, and others just would NOT save. After straining my brain for 2 days I suddenly realised that all the problem jpegs were the ones that I had dodged/burned with the new retouch tool.

Hmmmm....interesting! I then decided to try to save them in CS3, and they saved no problem. (I've had CS3 for a while, but have still been using CS2. Strange I know...but I'm so comfy in CS2, and I guess I resist change somewhat.)

Looks like I need to start using CS3 now.... no choice if I want to continue to use LR2's retouch tools.... which are fantastic BTW.

I realise it could be my computer that's the problem (PC XP service pack 2) though I think that's unlikely.

Anyone else using CS2 had this scenario?

Any experts care to speculate?

I will go and post this on the LR forum as well. I'll let you know if anything comes to light!

Wow.... thanks Candy. How nice of you.

Yeah, I have been a bad OSPer.... I hardly ever post any more, BUT I do have a quick read every day!

I keep telling myself as soon as I get all caught up I will dive back into posting.... I'm just wondering if I will EVER be caught up. (NOT while I still have a 3 yr old...!!)
