I have a pair of Alien Bees; I was planning on putting the units in my carry-on and checking the stands and umprellas, etc.

Do you have any advice for me on how to transport strobes?

Do you still have the plastic shipping covers that came on the lights originally (black domes)? I kept the ones that came on my ABs so they'd be protected during transport, although I've never taken them on a plane! They're so nice over there, it wouldn't surprise me if they would send you some...
