What company creates easy, professional, crisp coffee table books.
I want to look into them but wanted to ask first to see if anyone
had a place that they loved. I've heard good things about blurb books but that's
about all I've heard so far. Thanks everyone in advance!

Becka,
Email Shaun Austin at KISS. They are starting a new company called 7 cubed books. I went down to their shop and am going to be ordering all my coffee table books through them now, I was very impressed with their flexibility. They're so new I don't think they even have a website up yet.

Thanks for the news, Mark. Do you know if or when they might be making an announcement about these new books? I'm interested. I'd love to get on a mailing list if they have one.

I've used Blurb for proof books and that's all I'd use them for. I've heard LuLu is better for printing, but I wouldn't use these for albums. Not the type of image I want to project to clients, not one bit.
I've been printing & binding my own books. I invested the money & serious amounts of time to learn how to do it. I can't suggest it's for everyone, but it has it's advantages!
As for books, I'd look at Vision Art, Laguna, Finao... that should get you started.

We have used Asuka for several years but have been very frustrated with their really really long turnaround time.
We recently started getting WHCC press printed books with the lay flat pages. I love them! They announced that you can get them in an 8x8 and a 5x5 now, too.

Thanks Lynn. I use WHCC so I'll have to look into these. Are they listed in the pdf of other products because I've never noticed them before if they are.

I'll second Asuka... I've used them for a couple of years now. They have some really nice options.

They are listed in the new pdf, but I think it was just updated yesterday, so you will need to download the new one. The stay flat pages are thicker than the regular and much nicer. They were just added to their lineup a couple of months ago.

Oh wow! Thank you so much. I already use them for my printing so it would be nice to keep it to one company! I'm going to go download the new one. Thanks so much!
Oh, btw, do you have a photo of one that you've made? Just so I can see what it looks like in real life?

If you go
here you can see a sample. We laid this one out really simple, with one photo per page. Most of our wedding ones are designed like a flush mount album with multiple photos per page. This sample one has the photo cover, but we just put a design on our sample, rather than an image. This has the lay flat pages with the coating on them. The coating makes the pages really shiny, you can't really see it in these photos. For weddings, we have been doing them without the coating.

I wonder when this is going to launch... I asked Shaun but he didn't include that in his reply.
Mark, are they only coffee table books, or are they doing flushmount as well?

Hey Everyone,
Sorry I did not respond to this earlier. I am the co founder and Production Ambassador for KISS Wedding Books. This position has opened my eyes to the crazy world of albums. I am 100% dedicated to KISS and with the dedication that we are pouring into taking care of our clients it takes all of my time.
With that said. My family is starting a company that has a great option for Coffee Table books that just blows the competition away in most if not all aspects. The pricing is very affordable. The quality is the best that I have seen both in color and build. The ease of ordering is not at a KISS level at all but that is their goal (good luck with that). The company is called 7 Cubed Books. I am only helping them with getting it started but I will not be able to help with production or support because I am KISS. I hope this helps. I think they will be live by the end of June. One more thing that I do know. On samples there is no discount for the Coffee Table Books because they are so inexpensive. Example. 6x6 25 page book is $25. CRAZY CHEAP.

Yeah I used to use Asuka Book but that turnaround time is TOO LONG (4 weeks) . I switched to WHCC, they are lovely and I get them in a matter of days. Just as good as quality as Asuka IMO.
