A Tornado went through our area, damaged about 100 homes

Our backyard had a little tree down, the grass was covered in hail, and Cherokee Co Bank's sign is in our backyard (crazy) as well as a lot of tree limbs and trash.
Josh and I luckily have a basement. We heard the tornado ripping through our area, but none of the houses in our neighborhood were damaged as far as I know. The news reported the tornado went through the road that leads to our house.
I just want to thank God for keeping us safe, this is the fourth tornado we have had this year that our home has been in its direct path, but God keeps protecting us!

Yep! We live in Decatur and we just took refuge at the studio due to the massive trees in our yard that were swaying to and fro. Glad your safe! We aren't out of the woods yet though. A few more hours to go.
Cheers,
Zack

Hey Amanda, I'm glad you're okay! I'm sure that was scary. It was good to meet you this weekend, I wish it would have been more fruitful for you. Phooey. Anywho, how was the wedding Saturday?

Glad all are ok! Cat and I were driving separate cars to Roswell for our daughters dance rehersal across 92 when all this was going on. It was not fun. Cat called me on the cell "where are you? The sky is swirling like crazy"!!

Mike thats crazy! I am glad that yall are safe! They are still cleaning up the limbs, trees and other stuff that is all over the place. I had a couple of friends have severe damage to their homes, so just keep them in your prayers...I believe no one in Cherokee Co got hurt so that is awesome!
They are saying bad weather is headed our way again on Friday so lets pray this storm AWAY!

Oh my gosh Amanda, That is so crazy and scary!! I am so glad you and everyone up there is safe and protected. I am honestly really really terrified of tornadoes, and its one huge thing that I am moving there, freely on my own will, cause i've been so sure i'd NEVER move to a place w/ tornadoes.. I am just really scared, but i know god has us protected, and our time is our time, so i just need to not worry!! But wow, thats crazy that it was like right there.. i dont know how i'm going to deal w/ that on a daily basis...i am gonna be a nut case i think! Lol..
Is your basement a daylight basement? My in law's have a safe room thats above ground its like a concrete room, and its really aewsome, i wanted to build that if we did our own custom home when we move there, but we're thinking we're not going to build right now, just buy a already built one and build later... but...most of the homes either have a daylight basement or none at all... So i am nervous!! We'd be in the acworth/dallas/kennesaw area i'm guessing, thats where we're looking at least....
I will keep you all in my prayers!!

We had some awful tornadoes north of us last year. This year we had major flooding just fifteen minutes south of us

, and this past winter we were pounded with blizzards that made this one of the snowiest on record

. I am just thankful for calm days like today.

Yeah, I am workin' out the smilies today.
