Hey guys - Just sent off a new design for a sample album with a new album company. We are excited to see how it comes back - the company can put in metallic pages, canvas pages (canvas rag) and mix up matt + digital pages!
anyhoo - my clever wife has come up with the design (I just took the photos)
Love some feedback... we really haven't designed many albums at all!

Very nice! Nice clean design, not bad for one of your firsts! One thing I would suggest is your closeup spread with the bride and bridesmaids to move the image over a bit to the right so the bride's face is not in the crease or center line. Same with the last spread, move that to the left. I don't know who you are using to print the book, but even folded pages with no gutter don't look so great when going down someone's face, especially the bride's. You don't want to get the famous pink line in her face either. Good job though, tell your wife she did good! Nice images also!

You took the words right outta my mouth!

Other than that, the book looks neat!

There's already a good catch on the gutter---
I LOVE the design! Very simple and clean while still utilizing all your space.

Thanks guys - yes we had fixed the images so the seam wasn't going through the brides face, but somehow I posted a slightly older version! Cheers!

Nice work and beautiful layout.
Check the first to last spread. The top 4 images aren't centered and the little ones along the bottom aren't either.

Awesome effort you guys! You make a good team! Jonathan, your images are crisp, natural and have caught the emotion of the day. I do love the B&W images in the church, they are warm and have a "subtle grand-ness" about them. Done well mate!

Johnathan, what software did you use to do the album design?

Great images! I like the design a lot, too, very clean and simple.
Just a minor point or two...for consistency and a unified design, I probably wouldn't have the flower background in the second spread. That's the only place where you've used an image as a background (or at least one that wasn't very, very low opacity), so it doesn't really fit in with the theme of the rest of the book. Also, be wary of using white strokes on wedding images...that pure white line is always going to be brighter than the bride's dress, and make the dress look dingy by comparison.
Excellent, excellent job!
