My second shooter and I shot prom here yesterday. I was a marathon of ten minute sessions from 1:00 - 3:30 and I did the class photo at four. (Talk about large group formals, how about 110 LOL)

Anyway, My favorite, by far was this girl. She stood out because of her elegant style. I was excited when I saw her. She was fun for photos and I kept overhearing her mom and dad say, "You look good as a girl."

I wondered what they meant, I guess she is a hard core goth/tomboy every other moment of her life and she did the "girl" thing for her mom. She said if she was going to do it, she would do it right.

At one point, as she walked away from me she threw her arms up in the air and shouted, "I love being a girl!"

Here are a couple...

But she was also a bit edgy as well so I wanted to post process some with a different style. I would really apreciate your opinions on this one as I don't usually PP this much. I used the 300 preset for this one...

haha that's awesome.

and WOW... a zillion 10 min. sessions... sounds overwhelming. I'm sure they'll be shocked at how awesome these turned out in so little time!

I love the 300 preset one, and I'm sure she will smile.gif

Thanks, it isn't as bad as it sounds.

I did it last year for the first time.

I make the prom committee collect the sitting fees and money for the class photo and book the sessions. They prepay me with a check and give me the bookings beforehand.

They are allowed to have up to 7 family members and are guaranteed a minimum of four proofs from their ten minutes. All will get more than that and they contact me to order prints or a CD. It's amazing how many keepers you can get in ten minutes, and still have fun. I think especially for something like prom because the kids are in such good moods.

Of the 16 bookings I had, I only had one "Witch" mom. She was not happy with the location we were doing photos in, and was quite vocal about it. The funny thing is, I have great photos of her son, his date and her husband (they were in good moods). Her mom and herself though...technically the shots are great but I am definitely getting the "stink eye" from the both of them. They will get those proofs along with the others and see how witchy they were...

The rest of the groups were awesome. I can't get over my second shooter though. She is a young girl who I've been mentoring and after going through her shots from yesterday I couldn't be happier.

good job! smile.gif

I love the 2nd walking away shot of the tom-boy-turned-girl smile.gif Very spontaneous (and very much like what Id do laugh.gif )

You must be exhausted after such continuous shooting.

I LOVE the one with the roses!!!

I'm loving the roses one more and more too.

It's not that tiring. Essentially it's a three hour run of shooting. It goes pretty fast once you get started.

These are awesome! What a cool gig.

These are much cooler than my prom days...with the styrofoam props and "starry night" backdrop...
