What do you guys think of these? It was just me playing around with one light and my friend's 6 week old. I have never marketed myself on baby pics, so any tips for improvement?

I like them. I think the lighting would be better if it wasn't coming straight down over the baby's forehead. Angled a little would show more contours. Was this window light? I looks like it was either that or a 4x6 foot softbox or something.

It was a softbox set out at about a 45 degree angle from the camera.

Thanks for the tip. smile.gif

From my experience (and from seeing the awesome work on the Holritz blog), natural light is usually key. Now I know that can be tough sometimes, but it just seems to lend itself better to kid's portraits.

These look good but are lacking some sharpness when viewed on my monitor. I guess a prime lens and a little sharpening for the web would have helped too.

Keep shooting!
Trevor

*EDIT: There are a couple on your blog of "Riley" that are fantastic! Nice work!

Wow, I'm totally loving these - I love strong contrast, and this baby looks absolutely gorgeous - if I were your client, i'd totally be stoked
