I am fairly new to photography & would like to go to a forum where stupid questions can be asked of you pros out there, that will help me improve my skills from using my d200 to shooting in raw, photoshop tips & any type of question that comes up. Any advice on what I should do?
thx, Mike

Welcome Mike,

My advice would be to lurk here and chime in when you have a question.

You could also look at photo.net and nikonians.org (if you shoot Nikon). Photo.net is OK for gear and general advice, but Nikonians is MUCH more focused on gear.

Definitely lurk, search and read old topics before posting and mention that you searched so that you show you made the effort to get your question answered.

OSP is a happier place, but those places can be helpful too.

You may also want to check out our own Sarah Quiara's www.mamarazzischool.com/blog. While you may not be a mommy, there is a lot of great info for beginners.

And remember, not everyone here are "pros" so "stupid" questions could help others too. But definitely read, read, read. thumbsup.gif wacko.gif

Bar none the best place to learn online is The Morguefile Classroom. Pick up all the tips you can from that but most importantly got out and shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot. Then shoot some more. Experience teaches you more than anything else.

Then you're going to have to pick up tips for the Digital darkroom. My friend on deviant art kuschelirmel put this fantastic beaut together so do give it a good look through.

Mike this place is great you can learn everything here that you cant get from books. Look at all the old post, there is a ton of advice. Other than that though, read books!!! There are a lot of tutorials and help videos at www.cutframetv.com
Seriously though, look at all the old posts.
Oh and my advice.....start a blog right now, it is awesome to see yourself grow!

I was gonna say shoot more then you read, and read a lot. But this works too. laughing.gif

Hey there! You have found the place! smile.gif

My advice to you would be to shoot shoot shoot, read some, shoot shoot shoot shoot, shoot some more, and then come to OSP!

I have come to regard the good people at OSP as my mentors and friends smile.gif

But what will help you more than anything is just to practice and shoot, and you will improve in leaps and bounds.

Best of luck! smile.gif
