I tried searching for this but I never get anything relevant back when I do a search through OSP...and I couldn't find it anywhere else. I know there are multiple threads in here with where to get camera insurance but I can't seem to find any. Any recommendations? I've been putting it off for too long now.
Cheers!

if you advertise through wedj.com you can get up to $15k in equipment coverage plus liability for under $400 a year. They partnered with Mobile DJ insurance so I am not sure that you need to advertise with them to get it.

I just talked to my homeowners insurance co this week and they left pricing on my machine. I haven't called them back for details - it wasn't as good as that safeco but it was also $500
$10,000 in gear that leaves the house with me
$8,000 for my computer and stuff that doesn't leave the house
$2.4 million in liability

i belong to ppa, and have insurance through them.
(what i saved over hill+usher paid for my membership.)
Jana, i belive you should be able to cancel your policy any time. at least when i cancelled with hill+usher, the policy was terminated and i was sent a prorated check for the difference. same as vehicle insurance.

I have a business rider on my homeowners policy that runs about $450/year, and covers all my gear as long as it's on an itemized list they have on file.

Hmm. I called SafeCo and they told me they have a 1k minimum policy for businesses and that I didn't bring in enough revenue to make a policy cost that much. Is that a Florida thing? Local office thing? Anyone know?
Robin,
Can you PM me an approximate cost for insurance through PPA?

My husband sells insurance, and you can add it onto your homeowner's policy as SPP (Scheduled Personal Property). There is a specific designation on most policies for professional camera equipment.

StateFarm is my homeowners and they can add camera gear, but I also need business liability. They no longer offer it here in FL, so I am shopping elsewhere.

Chris, try to find an independent agent who can quote you on Hartford or Allied (owned by Progressive). They can quote you on all of your insurance (home, auto, business), and set up Business Liability for you through the same company, and are usually priced really well. If the quotes are coming back anything like what we're doing, it should save you a ton (especially on auto...).

Thanks Becca. TCP had great prices but let me know they do not insure my area in Florida. Stupid hurricanes! I think that is why my insurance prices are so high here.

Does anyone know who offers equipment & liability insurance in Hawaii? I asked hill+usher and other PPA offers, but none works here on the islands. The price of living in paradise, I guess
