i soooooooooooooo feeeeel your pain. i am the queen of new shoe foot pain. can i just tell you that 9 years ago i went on a job interview with some new shoes i brought back from the states.
middle of hot sweaty summer
no nylons. by the time i made it half way, my feet were a bloody mess, i had to stop and get bandaids and of course the bandaids over here are crap and they did not stay on. when i made it to the lobby of the office, i had to go off to the side and clean up my feet the best i could and walk like nothing was wrong.
i had to take a train back to the station afterward cause i had to walk barefoot.
i couldnt wear shoes for two weeks and i still have the scars on my feet.
oh and i did not get the job.
Oh dear... I can totally relate to this. I will never, ever, ever! wear new shoes to an all-day event (or even a half day event) without breaking them in at least a month in advance.
I still have parts of my feet/toes that are numb and tingly because of various shoes. And the pain that goes with that at the time of wearing said offending shoes! OMG. Brutal. I swear there is nothing worse than searing pain in your feet and having to walk around on them all day because you don't have an extra pair of shoes on you. I've resorted to buying a cheap pair of flip-flops from some random local store in the area so I can relieve my poor feet.

The nice flip flop was actually my preferred shoe last year, it was really great for beach weddings, and when your jumping up on chairs or beds real quick, probably go for a ballet flat or dansko for more formal
+1 on the ballet-flat type of shoe. Either that or a really supple/soft leather outsole that will breathe and expand a bit. Don't forget to break them in either! Depending on the shoot, you could get away with wearing dressy flip-flops or something that's more forgiving like an open back, slide-your-foot-in style of shoe. Good luck and let me know if you find anything b/c one of my girlfriend's also has wider feet and always lamenting over the lack of options in pretty, comfortable shoes.
