just a quick update...

The LCD sharpness is much much improved, on par with my beloved 5D's...
additionally, joystick AF selection works as expected. C. FnIII, 3, with options 4 and 5 limiting it to inner and outer points.

No daylight to test the servo under bright conditions, but upon first feel, the AF feels a bit snappier even under poor lighting.

Those were all the things I hated about this camera too, hopefully that will all change now.

Mwang, is it really that good? Since you were so excited, I went ahead and updated as well. I will test it tomorrow. These are good cameras, no matter what kind of bad wrap they got early in the game.

I definitely need this firmware.. the LCD on MKIII not as good as 5d.. hopefully this will help for the better ...

I took it out for a bridal shoot yesterday in bright light and AI Servo tracking worked flawlessly. Prior to the update it would struggle to keep tracking in bright and backlit conditions even with the sub-mirror fix. The joystick af select made a world of difference for me.

As for the LCD it still isnt as good as I would like, something about viewing it in bright conditions.. it never looks right...
