Hey there everyone.
With the recent talk about InDesign for albums I've been considering trying it out. I have it and have never used it.
Well they just announced at work that we are switching over to ID in the fall and they will be sending me for training.
Except, I'm a geek, and I want to know what I'm doing before I get to the training classes. Yes, I know I'm a geek.
Anyway, I'll be checking out the Kevin Swan tutorial for sure but are there any others you can reccommend?
Thanks all.

I think the training will teach you a LOT, but Kevin's video will get you well on your way. I took a couple of JC classes on InDesign which got me familiar with the program, but the assignments in the class were LAME and not even close to what I wanted to use the program for. However, they did teach me how to teach myself the program, and I can do most everything I need to do now.
I can't recommend any others than Kevin's video, but the fact that your office is sending you to training kicks ass! Good luck, and enjoy!

I know! I'm so excited.
My boss, who knows how big a geek I am, called me into the office to find out if there was a chance I might be interested in some ID training. LOL
I giggled. I'm hoping to become the composing manager at our paper in the next year so I have a lot to learn.

I've been a big fan of Lynda.com's tutorials. I taught myself InDesign, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver jsut by watchign their tutorials.

Thanks! I'll check that one out. I've never had any formal training for something like this before. I usually self teach. I want to self teach so that by the time I get in a room who know what they're doing I can ask harder questions.

I just figured it out myself. I think the swan videos would help, but , well if I can figure it out , i'm soooo sure you can. I'm a total idiot when it comes to these things
