I'm reading a book that was given to be by a friend called Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. Here's a quote from the book that really hit me like a ton of bricks:
We live for what we believe. If I live what I believe, then I don't believe very many noble things. My life testifies that the first thing I believe is that I am the most important person in the world. My life testifies to this because I care more about my food and shelter and happiness than about anybody else.

I've had this book sitting in my "to read" pile for a couple of months now. I've heard nothing but good things about it! I'll have to move it up to the top and read it next.

Yeah, I think "honest" and "raw" are great ways to describe it. It's not filtered or dressed up. My wife and I go to a small church that's got a pretty young demographic as a whole and we read this as a congregation a while back. There was a lot of good discussion that came out of it. I'd recommend it to anyone. it takes a lot of the religion out of religion and just brings out the guts of spirituality.
That's all just my opinion though. I need to reread it as it's been awhile.
