OK, I need some assistance before I agree to do this. I have been asked if I could do posed shots at a party. It will be indoors, and it is for a group, Black Health Professional Student Association, and the party is an ALL WHITE PARTY. So, heres my question, what is the best way to light them? I don't have anybody to pose for me to practice so it would either be a few shots before hand to nail it down or just not do it. I will be shooting with my D200 and my 17-55. I have 2 SB-600's with umbrellas and my trusty cactus triggers. I have never done anything like this before. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'd go with a low ratio, almost 1:1. Maybe 2 umbrellas slightly behind camera and to each side. I'd also absolutely do a hair light. Most people don't go that far, and it will make you stand out from others that may have done this for them. People get hung up on a black/white combination and thing it's harder to light, but it's exactly like anything else. Just expose it properly, keep the white and blacks contained in your histogram, and you'll be fine.

If I had one more flash, I might be able to. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks.
I guess I'm nervous about the B&W thing plus never doing posed shots like this before.
