Full Version: Best way to Batch Raws to JPG in Bridge
OpenSourcePhoto > Digital Photography > Post Processing > Bridge
PhotosByMP
I have never shot raw, always Jpg. But with my new Handy Dandy D3, I have been shooting Raw.
Now I have all these images I can see and noone else can.
How do I save a copy of each from Raw to JPG, I mean the group, not each individual one.
I did Image Processor but it got stuck and 159 of 195 photos did not get turned into jpg.
Problem is that its not the last ones its photos here and there and I cannot sit and go through 195 to see which ones converted and which ones didn'. Its just popped up an error that stated it could not process images, it gave a list but I closed it too fast with out reading it.
Regardless I just need to know if this was isolated, and it Image processor is the way to go.
Sorry for the dumb questions but its a first for me.
THANK YOU

Yeah Image Processor's the way to do it. I've never had a problem. That's weird.

I use either image processor, or lightroom. But, I have not had trouble with image processor. Try it again.

I shoot RAW + jpg so that I can use the jpgs to preview the raw files using Bridge. (I don't have CS3 on my studio Mac yet so I have to use DNG-converter to convert the raw files to dng files so that I can edit them in Bridge.)

I'm actually finding that I like shooting RAW+jpg because sometimes the out-of-camera jpgs are just great and don't need ANY help from me, not even a saturation boost. But I like having the raw files for those times when I missed the exposure on an otherwise touching moment.

I usually....

Go through Bridge and star the images I think are keepers

Select about 30-40 images at a time to open...they pop up in the window, I make my adjustments.
Save all as JPG.

I've found if I do them in groups of 30-40 it seems to go better for my computer. I have done up to 70 at a time though.
