I'm trying to find out the best place to buy ram. I heard that Crucial makes quality ram for Macs. Also someone mentioned Trans Intl which is cheaper than crucial, but is it the same quality? I want to put the best in this mac, want to spend around $300. wondering what everyone else uses.

I have bought from newegg too...but I don't have a mac. But it was cheaper than crucial by a little bit.

crucial was SO easy to use though...

yeah, that is one reason why I'm looking at crucial, very easy to order from. and price is decent, better than macs.

My sales guy at the mac store sent me to Other World Computing and recommended Micron. He said it's the exact same stuff Mac uses. I spent about $180 to upgrade from 2-4 GB and haven't had any problems.

Another vote for Crucial aka Micron.

Even when I was shorting Micron's stock years back(hoping the stock price would go down)
I purchased my memory from Crucial.

Trans International in Southern CA. http://transintl.com their memory is covered by a lifetime warranty and is matched to apple RAM. I have 10 gigs of their RAM in my mac pro, and 5 in my quad G5. Excellent memory!
