Hi! I just realized that I never posted one of these intro blurbs so I'll backtrack and do that now. Plus I just revamped my website so it's (hopefully) better than the one I pieced together myself last year. I saw David Jay at a seminar in NH in Feb(?) and since then I've been really motivated to take my business and my photography to the next level. I'm hoping this year will be my tipping point (awesome book btw)! I've been loving this forum for a few weeks now and I'm just shy of becoming a different kind of cat. I live in VT which makes me extremely jealous of anyone who is shooting outside at all right now…I hate you…no, not really but it f*ing (pardon my french) snowed here yesterday! If you're in the area, give me a holler.

Hi Stina and Welcome to OSP! I am also on the east coast, but you are much further north than me.

Well, at least we're on the same side of the continent. Perhaps we'll meet up someday!

Are you kidding, snow?? OMG!! Wow!! Sorry sad.gif I feel bad that I complain about 50 degree weather here, lol!!

Nice to meet you!! I'm new also!! What was that book you mentioned that was good??

I'll follow-up the snow comment with a little rejoice because it's supposed to be 70 here today! Vermont doesn't ease into spring. The book I mentioned is "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell who also wrote "Blink" which I would highly recommend. TP is about trends and change and Blink is about instincts, both a sort of analysis of social patterns. I'd also recommend "The World is Flat" by Thomas Freidman which is about the globalized economy and is certainly pertinent to wedding photographers who are struggling to maintain the niche market and make a living in the all-access digital market. Freidman is great. I'm a bit of a non-fiction junkie though so they may not be the most "thrilling" reads!
