Hi everyone!
I'm taking the plunge and making my first post after I have been silently reading for so long. I found this blog in the PPA mag from last year, where they featured the wonderful David Jay. David, you are truly inspirational and I hope to someday I can have half of your professional successes (or more, but I'll start with the lofty goal of 1/2 for now and then see where it goes!).
I am so impressed by all of the artists here and I'm a bit intimidated by how good you all are. But my goal is to learn, learn, learn and grow until I am as good as I think I can be, and then I intend to learn more.
I live in cold wintery Massachusetts, just south of Boston, quite close to Foxboro Stadium where the Patriots and New England Revolution play. I have only started to become a professional photographer, having just created my own website this year. I have done 5 weddings by myself this year and hope to at a minimum double that next year. My ultimate goal is to quit my day job working for another company (where I currently do nothing related to photography, which is truly my passion). I was able to assist for a photographer once, however, I left because of the rigid style (really old school, still used a Hasselblad and posed EVERY picture - which, don't get me wrong, works for so many great photographers, but that is not me and I felt that I was learning everything the opposite of the way I should be-trying to force myself into a place where I didn't want to be.)
I am married to a wonderful man who supports what I want to do and I have two absolutely perfect children: RJ, 5 (almost 6, his birthday is 3 days before Christmas) and Madelyn, 3.
I think I've taken up enough of your time, but I do hope to more fully immerse myself in your wonderful culture. I think you all are great inspirations and I really want to be a part of that. I would gladly welcome any critique about my website or anything you find on there.
Thank you!
