Congratulations! Let me share my recent experience with you.
My Acer lappy died two weeks outside warranty and AMEX just reimbursed me the original cost. LOVE AMEX. But the point is, I just bought a 13" MacBook 2.4G to replace it. With BookCamp (and the similar 3rd party apps) I can run windows programs in windows, but still have a Mac and run stuff on the Mac side.
So, one does not have to replace all the software they already own on the windows side. Is it as good as running it from within the Mac side....probably not as stable. But some programs have reduced functionality in Mac anyway, like QuickBooks.
So, welcome to Mac and you can have the best of both worlds!
Keep in mind, not everything can be easily upgraded to the Mac side. I am a Nikon shooter (Hey! Nobody is perfect...) and I used Camera Control Pro to shoot tethered sometimes on an arial rig I built. Well, the old version of CCP is not compatible with the current Mac OS X. Only the New CCP program is. And the upgrade cost is $80. I think I only paid $80 for the program a year ago. Nikon did not want to hear it. Too bad, they said.
That is a shame....I have spent how many thousands of dollars on Nikon brand bodies, flashes, lenses, batteries, etc....and they want to nickle and dime for a program to use the equipment. It could almost make me want to switch to Canon just for spite.
Once again, welcome to Mac.

Anything I need to know when it gets here?
I'm still up in the air with Adobe. I did talk to one person the other day who finally said I could get the Mac version without a problem. I hope I get the same person when it gets here and I call back. If not I'm switching to LR. (I'd like to get it sometime in the future anyway.)
I'm sure I have to get a new driver for my Wacom tablet.
I'm going to check out open office.
Anything else?
