Allright, here it is...my 10th or so draft of a logo. I'm shooting for all-around good logo for portraits and weddings. Something simple, fresh...hopefully not too boring. Let me know what you think!

I think its a nice size/shape, and like the blue. I would consider doing a two-color version (your name in one color and photography in another) to make it stand out a bit more. I realize you may need a one-color version for some things, but I really think a bit more color would make it pop.

I love the fonts! I agree with maybe a slight variation in color for the word photography. Other than that nice work! smile.gif

just as an FYI... this isn't a logo... it's a type treatment. smile.gif

it is nice...pretty...but i do think you can take it to the next level!

play around a little more and see what you can come up with. maybe photography in caps? name on top of photography? 2 tones? just keep playing around. i like it, it just doesnt make me go "WOW"!

yeah, I know... not much WOW factor...how about something like this? not finalized, but I think I'm getting closer...my husband also suggested I add a period after the 'j' so people wouldn't try to say 'jmeyer' as one word.

JMO...Way too much going on for me. The font, photography to the right, a period, a line. Its just too much. What is it about the logo that you are liking? The fonts? The layout? Help us help you! hehe.

Well, I really like the handwriting font, it seems personable and signaturish (if that's a word). The period is there just to distinguish the initial from the last name, to clear up any confusion that might be caused by someone reading all of the letters together. 'Photography' is there to state that. The line just to add more visual intrest (or business in your case) and to add balance. I put the words to the left/right because with the 'j' and the 'y' if you put 'photography' right underneath then there's a lot of seperation that I don't like.

I think you're on the right track. The line definitely helps with separation between your name and "photography", but it just doesn't fit quite right. How about a curved line that matches the font you used for your name? I think it adds just a bit more personality. And since your name is in all lowercase, I thought uppercase letters for "photography" and a different color would help with the contrast. It also looks like the "y" adds something on the end of the letter that is putting a "." under the second "e". I would remove that as well to clean things up.

Thanks for the suggestions Lori! You're right, the curved line does add more personality. It helps to see different perspectives.
