Hey ya'll,

When I am uploading my new images to my computer, from a wedding or whatever, The computer is saving not only the camera raw images but also a stupid jpeg as well!!! So, I have to go in and delete all the jpegs out of the folder before I even start working on my camera raws. I don't want it to save a copy of the jpeg because I export the Raw files as Jpegs after I batch process them in Lightroom. Can anyone tell me how to make my computer stop doing this? Please?!?!

Thanks OSP Fam! To the rescue again!

Lauren

Lauren...you must be saving both RAW and jpg's on your camera. Can you switch the setting to just RAW?

When I go back and look at them when I have just shot them, would that show me a duplicate of the same image if that was the case? Because my camera doesn't do that.

I don't think it does show you both. You have to go into your menu on your camera and change your settings from RAW+JPG to just RAW.

When you go to menu on your camera and click on quality it will show you Large jpg (symbol with a quarter circle) , large compressed jpg (looks like stairs) , med jpg.....etc...RAW+ Large jpg and eventually just RAW.

If you've chosen RAW + symbol, you'll get them saved as both RAW and jpg.

This is the same on the 20D, 30D, 40D, 5D etc...
(you are shooting canon I believe?)

No. It's a setting on your camera. There is the option to have a RAW file and JPEG saved to your CF cards.

LOL! I guess I shouldn't walk away from my computer while leaving a comment! haha. Sorry for the redundency.
