I'm really loving the LR and really appreciate the LR TOTD.

But I have a specific question. Is there a way to rotate your crop outline. I know you can set it at an angle but can you rotate it a full 90 degrees. I like using the preset sizes but just wondered if I couldn't flip my crop.

Flip my Crop, sounds like gangsta photog talk.

"What you doin Jake?". "Man, I'm just flippin' my crop............Word."
Sorry, I tangent often.

Lightroom wants you to flip the photo, not the cropper. lol

I use ctr+[ and ctrl+] to rotate the image and crop that way. That's the easiest I've found.

If you rotate the pic, aren't you going to end up with people sideways (for example), instead of basically changing the orientation of the crop? Am I reading this wrong, or is that the idea (to change the orientation of the crop)? If not, then Matt's response seems appropriate.

If you're talking about turning a horizontal photo into a vertical crop by taking off the sides, just drag the crop "past" the right angle and it flips automatically. Let me get a photo example.

Here's a REALLY quick video of what I did above. I'm going to probably register this program sorry about the message but I wanted to see if it worked first.

Matt, I'm sorry, I just don't get it even after watching the video. I just tried to do it and I guess I'm missing something.

You're trying to teach the right subject though. I'm wanting to change my crop orientation. What am I missing.

Sorry,

Oh Crap, sorry, I didn't have my constraints locked when I tried.

I got it now. Thanks so much.

While holding the lower right corner of your crop overlay, move it up to the top left corner. It goes nicely right?

While holding the lower right corner of your crop overlay, move it to the BOTTOM left corner. That should change your orientation. As you "force" the crop to readjust it'll flip orientations.
