thanks for the comments

the stained glass photo was one i was hoping to grab and was fortunate to get the groom standing there in a moment of contemplation, so it was a combination of good luck and some planning.
with the cake one, I got access to a balcony at the reception hall and was able to get that angle. i doubt i'll get many other opportunities to do a similar thing.

Nice work.
Stained glass shot makes me smile. I seriously heart the cake table shot, but I'd straighten it. Then the composition would be magnifico.

i'll give the straightening thing a try and see how it works!
i'm actually somewhat partial to the ceremony shot where you can see everyone, i find the staggering effect pretty neat.

I really like the different perspective on the cake shot, the only thing would be if the were on the other side of the table so you can catch their expressions. Still very good.

i was 2nd shooting, so the main photog got the frontal view; that's the fun part of being the 2nd, you don't always have to play it safe

but yeah, it's definitely a tradeoff
