Just curious as to what you mean by "Lifestyle Photography". I noticed that its very photojournalistic, but is there more to it than that?
Jamie Delaine
I guess it means...Hm...well I'll try to put it this way.

A lifestyle family session would be walking their dog at the park, or reading books in the family room together, or bathing their toddler, that sort of idea. It's not just a family up against a brick wall, it's they doing things and activities that are a part of their life.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! That does help. Makes sense.

Hi, Ashley,

Fellow OSPer Amber Holritz is the master of the lifestyle baby portait session! Her work is amazing! Her article in the November 2007 Rangefinder Magazine is awesome!! Here's the link. Amber is wrapping up the Rockstar Roadtrip with Corey McNabb in Chicago on Monday. It's not too late to still sign up.

Amber's philosophy for lifestyle portraiture is "to produce artistically fulfilling images that depict a "typical way of life"." She asks the parents about where in the house they spend the most time and what they are doing in that space and what are the things that their child is doing right now that they never want to forget? It's so cool the images that result just from those 2 questions.

Ashley....Fred Egan is really frikking good with the lifestyle stuff. Some of his work reminds me of Chase Jarvis' lifestyle stuff. None the less...great inspiration.
