does your fall off the windshield, time and time again like mine does?

try this, and it wont. my husband's rental car in california had one because they cannot attach anything to the windshield. he loved it. got me one too!

Tami,

great find--thanks for sharing!

I know, my father in law has one and was telling us how cool it was and that we need one. I bump heads with my father in law (we are both control freaks) so if I get one I have to admit he is right. Ugh. wink.gif

I do think it's better for security so people don't see that you have a nav. right away.

It's on my ever expanding list of stuff to buy.

I love my Garmin Nuvi. I honestly didn't want it at first, but my husband bought it anyway. Now I don't know how I ever got around without it! My hasn't fallen off of the windshield...yet thumbsup.gif

it will. believe me,,,, it will.

from a security standpoint i see it as a huge help - my car was recently broken into because i simply had the circles on my windshield. even though i take it with me, they still broke in and went through my glove box.

trying getting around in another country where everythng is roundabouts! street signs are invisible, and you can't tell where north, south, etc. is! i love my nuvi, i drove to heathrow and back, on my own for the first time with it!

OOOOOOH! I have that thing -- the garmin and that stand thingie and YES YES YES. I tried everything and that thing is THE BEST! No more falling and SO easy to take all evidence of any sat device out of the car with one pull of the cord. And no suction sucker marks to give it away.

Best best best. I love my nuvi.

Fantastic!

Thanks!

I just picked one up on Amazon for $28

It was ranked 5 stars!

Thanks again...Julie

This is interesting - I've had my Garmin Nuvi for about five months, and my suction cup has fallen off the windshield twice in the last month. Fortunately, the unit wasn't on the mount at the time. But I've always left the mount on the windshield - never thought of it (or the "circles") as being a security risk.

So where does this particular mount go when you're parked?

in my trunk. the punks over here have learned that 'circles' indicate sat/nav - when i first heard it, i thought it was crazy. but now we have suffered two break ins because of it. they break in on the passenger side thinking you have left it in your glove box.

but, they also realize that we park in parking lots and take the trains into london, therefore, our cars are left unprotected allllll dayyyyy long......

Wow! Note to self to buy one of these things. I didn't even think about the circles being a security threat but it makes sense! I always put mine in the glove box. Yikes!

+1

While I think it's a stupid law in California that you cannot attach it to your windshield, the friction mount is nice.
