No, not that first time! I was just hoping that a few people could share how they got their first destination wedding? How did you get your foot in that door? How long had you been shooting weddings before that first travel shoot? Was it a friend? Where was it? What were some of the things you had to deal with that you didn't expect? How did you continue to book more after the first?

I'm still a destination wedding "virgin" so I'm hoping the more "experienced" shooters will share… wink.gif

Our first one was friends of friends getting married out of state. It's one of those things that you have to do the first of for free or at cost so you have more to show. Once you get one, you get more.

Yeah, destination weddings are a lot more work than in-town weddings, but it's always refreshing to get out of your "comfort zone" and shoot in exotic locations. It really lets that creative spirit free!
