So the question was asked, "Is there any guys comfortable shoes that don't look like they belong to your grandpa....." Well I'm 6'-6" and wear a size 16, so what I can find and what normal guys can find is totally different. So maybe you guys can hash this out and post up some recommendations. I know, I know, it sounds a little panzyish, if that's a word, but it never hurts to see what else is out there. So? You got something that looks cool and totally works on a long wedding shoot? Come on Stewart, you gotta have an opinion on this man.

Ok, so I gotta know where you get your shoes. My boys are six foot two and shoe size 14 so far. They are 14 years old so who knows where they will end up. We live in small town and no stores here bring in anything over 13.

Please help my poor children...LOL...

I order my sneakers and dress shoes for weddings and such from New Balance. Great site and great service. They sent me a $50 coupon just for being a loyal customer. I wear 16E so it's hard for me to find shoes that fit. New Balance is the only place I shop for shoes.

Cole haan with Nike air technology are the best and most comfortable shoes I've ever had.

Find a Cole Haan outlet (there's one near Vegas) and call to get them in your size. I bought a pair about 2.5 years ago and they're still comfortable and look great after a fresh shine.

Adam wears Born shoes for weddings and says they are comfortable, but I just checked their site and it looks like they only go up to size 14.

Sarah,
There's a couple options for your boys with the best option being, online. If you have a Nordstroms anywhere near, often you can find large sizes there. I have resigned to never looking for shoes in stores cause it's really a downer and a giant waste of time.

In my opinion, if you want a choice and would like something with a little fashion sense, try Oddball.com or Zappos.com It's true NB has large shoes but for young guys there's really no style. I'm starting my training to climb Mt. Whitney and I run in these: NB MT811 and I love them.

I don't want this thread to be about my giant feet, but for general shoe referrals, but I've noticed a lot of the fashion magazines and shoes have shown guys wearing shoes like these Steve Madden Louka's So Sarah, I hope that helps. I really think Oddball is a great site because they stay up with fashion and their prices seem pretty good.

Has anyone else tried any Steve Madden shoes? Are they an all day shoe? Anyone?

Thanks all! I will be checking all these out.

I just bought a new pair of Clarks to replace my old pair of Clarks. They are very comfortable and cool looking as well.

Love my Merrell's.

Mark Christensen
I can't find any Merrells in a 16 so I am kinda bummed. I'm gonna look at some of these other suggestions. I have a pair of Bostonian wing tips, too loud for some quiet churches and not comfy. Dang, don't wear the shoes I wore today, I thought they'd be perfect, they're ECCO - City shoes. I'll try ad find a pic of them. Dang my feet are killing me. We started shooting at 9 this morning and just got home at 11:30 tonight. Gotta hit the hay. I need a foot massage!!!! HONEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYY??????????

Try SAS shoes. Not available by mail order--retail only, not sure of largest size though My feet are w i d e @ 13EEEE. Yeah, hard to fit.

Hey Mark,

I've got 2 "go to" pairs that I use for weddings. One pair are Florsheim, and the other are Rockports.

The florsheims are built like a tank. I've had them for 2 years, wear them ALOT, and just love them. They are heavier than the rockports though, and after a 12 hour day, can feel like they are draggin' ya down.

The Rockports are SUPER light, and comfy. I just haven't worn them enough yet to get them properly broken in.

Both pair are fabulous though. Give them a try man.

I'm a big fan of Ecco for my work (dress) shoes. I started wearing them when I worked retail (on my feet all the time) and love them.

I'm not sure how big they come though - maybe more selection online?

I wear nikes and just got some disney crocs for my normal stuff though.

Good luck!

I just got a pair of Dr Scholl's. I normally wear a 14 and it fits just right, but a 14 in these is roomy and incredibly comfortable. Not sure if they go above 14, but Famous Footwear has a deal where if they don't have them in store they'll ship them to your door direct from their warehouse for no charge. They only list up to size 15 on their web site, but like I said, I usually wear 14s but the 14s of these are quite roomy on me so a 15 might work for you. They let you return it to your local store if they aren't the right size.

Here's the link to the ones I just got-

Although I agree that Crocs are very comfortable, I personally would never wear a pair on a job, it's an image thing for me.

But I noticed a few months ago that they have this style:
Venture Leather

I was just wondering if any of you have either seen them or tried them. Although maybe not for my more formal weddings, I could see this style for a more casual wedding.
It does seem that their biggest size is 13 though.

I wear the Crocs all terrain Oxford...very comfy

I've found Keen shoes to be very comfortable, check out the Boston II. Unfortunately they only go up to size 14.

I love my Clarks, however, they have poor ankle support. My Rockport shoes are about 7 years old and have traveled with me to Brazil, China and Puerto Rico....I love em.
funguytobearound
Rockports are my favorite shoes to Rock, I own 3 pairs. Well made and super light and comfortable.
