I think I will be using them as my printing lab. I received my samples from them yesterday, and wow! I am very impressed with their printing and the Pearl paper looks amazing. The only thing I am concerned about is the ROES software. I am aware that many other printing labs use this software as well. I am a very tech savvy person and understand programs easily, but ROES is really confusing to me and I hope to find some sort of tutorial and FAQ about using it. I contacted them, but they told me to call when I am ready to order and they will walk me through it. That is fine and all, but I would feel much more comfortable getting to know the program before I get to that point. Anyway, do any of you know where I could find a good tutorial, or FAQ, on ROES software? I am excited to start sending them my business, because I know my clients will love their work! Thanks in advance.

I won't work with any lab that doesn't use ROES. It's so much easier than FTPing orders was... As for figuring it out, just get in there and build orders and then delete them before you hit send on the order review screen.

There are some video tutorials here: http://www.softworkssystems2.com/NewSite/support/videos.php

But since every version of ROES is custom to that lab it won't be exactly like ProDPIs version.

I'm not grasping why understanding ROES is necessary to choose your print lab. ROES is easy enough to learn, and will streamline the ordering process.

I didn't even bother with sample prints - I ordered some 20x30s and 12x18s from them, received them yesterday and they now have a customer for life (unless they do something terribly wrong)

I can't help you with a ROES tutorial, but I must say the only annoying thing about ROES (first time I used ROES, so maybe it is a ProDPI thing) - was having to place separate orders depending on the "catalog" I was using.

So I had to place a "metallic" order separate from my "20x30" order. I would like to be able to make one large order and have one order to track (and pay for) than three smaller orders....

I've already chosen them for my print lab. As I stated, I can't wait to start sending them some business. I would just like to understand it before I am ready to have them print something.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the feedback! As far as catalog orders, in our roes (all roes for that matter), types of orders are divided by production type. FOr instance metallic takes a little longer in lab than luster, so we separate out orders so that they flow nicely through the system all of the way to shipping.

Once you get roes down, it is nice and fast and is actually a little faster than FTP on the upload. Before sending the order to us, it is zipped up and then FTP'd. By being a single large file, transfer time is faster, rather than the stop and go of multiple small files.

Please let me know if you have any question at all, and WELCOME!
