Please read the instructions on this one too - it doesn't go over the top of 1.3 and do not use it for your MAIN WORKFLOW IMAGES yet. It's not stable.

Yes...do read the instructions. Do you think this will be a free upgrade for those that already own Lightroom or will it be a paid upgrade like with Photoshop upgrades?

They added Smart collection... Nice!
And they did a very nice job on the second screen... ALAS! It has a second screen support.
Competition is great!
Well done Adobe...

A heap of new corrections tools... mainly.... Masks!!! Yes, non-destructive masks to work on exposure, saturation, etc...
If you are already a registered 1.x user you can run the 2.0 beta past the 30days to August 2008. - ask a registered user to send you a registration invite if you aren't a licensed user.
Looking forward to playing. Perhaps they will bring in an intro offer again like they did with 1.0 to thank their beta testers (and give aperture a kick up the a$$)

Adobe didn't mention a new engine... does that mean we would still get the same problems with NEF files (i get red cast all over, especially under incandescent lighting, even if I set the white balance to incandescent on the camera)?

The print module is also going to have an amaing auto sharpen feature based on the paper and printer profile. You will also be able to export the print set up (three across etc to a file) also acess other images in the print module without leaving to select. You will also be able to combine virtual images together to make like an HDR image. Another cool feature is when bringing in an image to PS you will be able to acess the LR palette to make adjustements while in PS.

it made all my thumbnails corrupted. Strange color blocks and patterns... =( thankfully once I purged the cache everything went back to normal

I saw this today on
Sean McCormick's Lightroom blog...my first fear was that it was an April Fool's joke, so I had to check the date! Check out his blog - he's got a bunch of info up on the beta.
One of the things he links to is
NAPP's Lightroom 2.0 Learning Center...and it's free - sweet!
I'm thinking I'll download this right away and start using it on all my personal stuff - should be fun!
Sometimes I look back nostalgically on my darkroom days...I'm doing that with less and less frequency these days. Uh, I guess these would be the Lightroom days.

So we get to play with it for 30 days so we can love it, have to have it and pay for it as a new version, right?
It sounds like it will be a great version tho - can't wait to download, install and play!

Would any of you 1.x users be willing to send me an invitation to extend my beta testing. I have been waiting to buy lightroom till the new version came out. I am really excited, already been playing quite a bit. Thanks for anyone willing to help.
